I'll preface this by quoting my husband "what in the heck is that and why is it going on our wall? If you can hang that there, then I can, by all means, hang a deer someplace in here!"
Ha. Probably not on my life! Sooooo you may not like it either and think it's lame, but I think it's totally art, it's simply fabulous and it is absolutely perfect for this spot in the house!
I got the idea from the House of Smiths rug. But my floor is not a place for any type of rug as it seems there's always something being spilled or broken. So for this I used: a 24x36 (the bigger the better for me lately) stretched canvas, burlap, had Greg make a chevron die cut for me (not without a whole lot of grumbling), and then paint. Once finished I sanded the whole thing as well to give it a worn look.

I think it's super cute. :) I have wanted to do something similar for a large wall in my house but I know I will be asked similar questions by my husband. ha. It reminds me a little of this one as well

I saw House of Smiths rug and I do think it is fabulous! What a great idea to put it on canvas and hang it up. Fabulous, Shalet.

Cool! Shut up, Greg! Haha! Thanks for those links, I now have the new addiction of obsessing over crib bedding!

Wow super cute as always. I want to hire you someday when I have a real house. I can't believe Greg doesn't like it. And I can't believe he would think a deer would look good on a wall in a home? Even I know that's not good decorating!:)

greg - i fully support your drive to have an animal hanging on your wall - also, I don't get the "art" either.

That wasn't my Andy was it, cause if Greg decides the art is fired I get first dibs. I am doing Jane's room (in my imagination at least...) cream and white with turquoise accents and that would be just about perfect...
